Veteran rapper and former member of defunct group The Remedies, Eedris Abdulkareem caused a mild uproar among guests at the Headies 2016 held on the 22 of December. The radical musician while singing on stage with his former group members,  Tony Tetuilla and Eddie Montana, was really in his usual high and controversial spirit. He stopped midway performance to thank everyone who had been a part of his career and then thanked former Nigerian President, Chief General Olusegun Obasanjo.

Godwin Uzoji wins 9th National Art Competition

Homelessness, Despair and Hope, a work that elucidates the issues that surround the condition of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) by using the Tent as a metaphor for those who have lost their physical boundaries by the share brut of force, was adjudged the overall winner of this year’s National Art Competition held at the premises of the African Artists Foundation in Victoria Island, Lagos on Thursday, December 1, 2016. The masterwork was created by Godwin Uzoji, a sculptor who specializes in drawing attention to important human issues and conditions in the larger society.

In a bid to encourage swimming amongst Secondary School students in Nigeria, Loya Milk, a premium milk brand from the stable of Promasidor Nigeria Limited on Saturday, 3 December 2016, organised a swimming competition dubbed "Loya Swim Meet" for Secondary Schools in Lagos State where cash prizes of over N1, 000,000 (one million naira) and other consolation prizes were given to participants.
